i was on a short course of ipi...4 weeks.....and months later RA showed up.........its been a year + since last ipi and the RA has disappeared.

that is good to know thank you.. I am on daily meds for my melanoma and may be on them for much longer, so expect the RA will hang around for a while. The Methotrexate seems to be working. Thank you.

Prayers for you too! If I can find a link to an article I read about vitiligo that happens from immunotherapy, I’ll share it. It said that there’s a greater chance of prolonged remission from melanoma if you have vitiligo. I hope it’s true. 😉.

Oh Rita. I am right there with you. My doctors all work together because I have both breast cancer and melanoma and never did they say methotrexate not good for Melanoma. It is both interesting and frustrating when I hear that others are told different things by their doctors. I am constantly trying to fight off all the various side effects. I also have vitaligo. I have belly probs most of the time. It’s hard to say what is causing what anymore. Yes, happy to be alive each day but sometimes it all just feels overwhelming. Prayers for you.

They wouldn’t give me methotrexate because it’s bad for melanoma (they said?). So I’m on hydroxychloriquine. I have RA, Sarcoidosis, Vitiligo, had colitis but controlled now, the immunotherapy caused my immune system to attack my pancreas. So I’m type 1 diabetic for life. But hey, I get up every day and I’m thankful for that. I also have celiac disease (which I had before treatment). I’m just a walking autoimmune disease. 🦠
